Martin Williams
BSc Hons Sports Therapy, Sports, and Musculoskeletal Therapist
Martin’s initial interest in the body and how it recovers from injuries began when on a work experience placement under the guidance of Mark Coulson, Laura Dodd, and Mathew Lippett at Barrow Raiders Rugby League Club. This motivated him to apply for, and graduate from the University of Central Lancashire in 2017 with a BSc Hons Sports Therapy. Martin gained a wide experience of working in different settings during his training, including the university’s own sports injuries clinic, and more intensively with Barrow Raiders, becoming an integral member of their backroom staff, helping the playing staff manage, maintain, and recover from injuries throughout the season.
Since graduating, he has continued to work with the Raiders, developing a reputation for being their go-to man for all soft tissue complaints by utilising the latest massage techniques and providing effective rehabilitation programs to help people maintain their improvements following sessions.
Since graduating from university, Martin has developed his skills at Barrow and taken the lead role for the Furness Raiders under 16’s and under 19’s (Barrow Raider’s Academy). He has also been working with Hawcoat Park Rugby Union Football Club, where he is in the process of elevating the club in medical standards and ensuring alongside the other team coaches that players leave the field of play safely.
Whether you are suffering with a stiff lower back or neck, tight shoulder muscles, or hamstring, calf, or Achilles tendon problems, Martin is on-hand to manage these and any other condition that you may require attention with.
Whilst you are with Martin for treatment, don’t forget to talk to him about his nutrition and diet plans, and the ways that he can help you get fitter, stronger, and faster with his up-to-date knowledge in these areas in order to achieve your overall goals.
